Boost Portugal
Experience Booking Website
Context
Boost Portugal is a major experience operator offering tourist activities across Lisbon and Porto, from Tuk Tuk and Segway tours to gastronomy, e-bike experiences and full-day excursions. The existing website lacked the clarity, structure and trust signals needed for users choosing experiences online. The goal was to create a lighter and more intuitive booking experience that helped visitors compare options and feel confident before booking.
My Role
I was responsible for the UX/UI design, including wireframes, prototyping, interface redesign and the creation of a reusable design system.
Reducing Uncertainty During Selection
The main challenge was helping users quickly understand and compare different experiences. The original product cards provided basic information but lacked enough context to support decision-making. I redesigned the cards by introducing concise descriptions, allowing users to understand each experience at a glance without opening multiple pages.
Building Trust Before Booking
For visitors choosing experiences in an unfamiliar city, trust was essential. The reviews se awction was redesigned to improve readability, removing text placed over images and creating a clearer presentation of customer feedback. Trust elements were distributed throughout the journey, including social proof sections and company credentials that reinforced Boost Portugal's credibility.
Designing the Booking Experience
Experience pages contained extensive information, creating the challenge of maintaining clarity throughout a long decision journey. A sticky navigation system helped users understand their position and quickly access relevant sections, while a persistent booking button kept the main action available at any moment. A custom interactive itinerary component was also created to transform a simple list of stops into a visual story, combining images and descriptions to help users better understand the experience and build confidence before booking.
